Additional information about Allium Cepa

A picture of coryza, with acrid nasal discharge and laryngeal symptoms, eye secretion bland; singers’ cold, worse in a warm room and toward evening; better in the open air is presented by this remedy. Specially adapted to phlegmatic patients; colds in damp cold weather. Neuralgic pains, like a fine thread, following amputations or injuries to nerves. Traumatic chronic neuritis. Burning in nose, mouth, throat, bladder, and skin. The sensation of glowing heat on different parts of the body.

Head: Headache from inflammation of nasal mucosa and sinuses. Pains mostly in the forehead which gets worse in a warm room. Neuralgia of the face with thread-like pains in the face. Pain disappears during menses and reappears with the cessation of menses.

Eyes: Contusion of eyes with profuse lachrymation and burning in the eyelids. Intense photophobia with bland lachrymation.

Nose: Acrid and watery nasal discharges which excoriate the upper lip. Symptoms like hay fever with sneezing, on entering a warm room. Running nose with headache, cough, and hoarseness with the sensation of a lump in the throat.

Rectum: Loose stools with bloating of the abdomen and offensive flatus. Burning and heat in rectum with itching in the anus.

Urinary: Weak bladder with frequent and increased urination. Dark urine with pressing pain and burning sensation in the urethra.

Respiratory: Loss of voice with the sensation of a lump in the throat. Violent cough from inhalation of cold air and tickling sensation in larynx. Constriction and sensation of oppression of the chest with difficulty in breathing. Pain in the larynx as if torn from coughing and the pain extends to the ears.

Modalities: Worse, in the evening, in a warm room. Better, in the open air, and in a cold room.
